Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) that uses small needles that painlessly help your body find balance.

According to TCM, the body regulates itself via a system of meridians (energy pathways) that constantly communicate with each other. So when we are stressed, injured, or have some sort of illness, the meridians need help finding balance. Acupuncture enables the meridians to easily communicate with each other, thus easing tension out of your tissues and allowing your body work more harmoniously.

Your session will begin with a thorough intake to figure out what is going on in your mind, body and soul. TCM takes into account not only your symptoms, but the root of the issue. This can include emotions, diet, habits, and physical problems.

During the acupuncture session, needles will be painlessly inserted into certain points on your body. Each session will be customised to fit your needs. This can include different styles of acupuncture and different types of acupuncture needles. Other TCM techniques that may be incorporated into a session include cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, and dietary advice.

During a session you will feel relaxed and often sense energy circulating, and experience a sense of lightness following.

Deluxe Facial Rejuvenation

Referred to by clients as “the Botox alternative”, this treatment includes the standard acupuncture treatment and also contours and sculpts your face, addressing common issues such as fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles, and dullness and discoloration.

The session starts by looking at your skin and determining what you’d like to improve. Needles will be placed on your body while a customised sheet mask infused with chinese herbs prepares your skin for facial acupuncture, gua sha, facial cupping, and jade rollers.

Heated crystals are used to create movement through the muscles and connective tissue, while extensive gua sha work is done on the neck and shoulders, releasing stress and tension held here and stimulating the lymphatic system to de-puff these areas and help the body rid itself of debris.

You will see an immediate difference following the treatment, as increased circulation and connective tissue stimulation delivers nourishment and oxygenation to your face, rejuvenating the tissue and providing a radiant glow.

Since the body is predominantly made of water, sound waves are able to efficiently penetrate the tissues, to help tone the Qi and disperse blockages.

A set of seven tuning forks that correspond with the chakras (energy valves in the body) are used to enhance your treatment, along with activation of the Schumann resonance (the vibration of the Earth). Add on: Cupping

Cupping has been used in TCM for centuries. Using glass cups and a flame creates a negative pressure which frees stagnant/blocked qi. In TCM muscle pain is described as qi and blood stasis (from fascia and muscles being blocked due to overuse, injury or poor posture). Through cupping, we are able to increase circulation and liberate the areas that are stuck.

The discoloration that results from this treatment is not a bruise but rather an indication of the severity of what was blocked. After a cupping treatment, the area will feel lighter and less stiff. The marks may last a few days to a week.
